The Tattered Gloves by J.L. Berg
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Willow has had a tough childhood. And she is finally getting a clean break moving in with her aunt. But the past has her in such tight grips, only her gloves provide her with comfort. Being the new girl in a small town high school is tough. But she manages to find a good friend and get a part-time job at the book shop. Sam , manages the book shop and is her classmate.
This book was so beautifully written, shows Willow’s internal turmoil and how she comes out of her cocoon as the story progresses. The people around her are so supportive and caring, makes you glad for her. San is perfect, kind, sweet, smart and I loved how their relationship grows from nothing to friendship and then more.
I love the YA genre and this was just my kind of a book. There’s trauma but there is hope, love and family. Highly recommended!!!
