Review: Hooked

Hooked by Brenda Rothert

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Brenda Rothert is an expert story teller. This is a classic “maid-in-manhattan” story between the hotel maid and the famous hockey player.
Jake’s apartment is under renovations, so he’s staying in a hotel suite for the time being. He’s the arrogant, confident team captain. Miranda is a hard working, smart young lady who’s struggling with 2 jobs to finish her education. When she’s assigned to clean Jake’s suite, she is introduced to his man-whoring ways and forms a bad opinion of him. Jake is immediately fascinated by this girl who is not intimidated or enamoured by his status. They soon become friends and Jake is really supporting of her.
Their romance was sweet and lovely to read. Miranda is very supporting when Jake faces troubles with one of his psycho fans. All in all it was a nice read.
