My first book by Anissa Garcia and I am a big fan. This is book 2 in the series though can be read as a standalone.
Marla is an independent, confident lady who does not believe in Love. She has been taking care of her younger sister since she was a teenager and now wants to live her life on her own terms and not bound to any man’s demands. Josh is a friend of a friend who has been hurt in his previous relationship but still believes in Love. Marla does not like Josh from the first impression and considers him to be asshole who reminds her too much of her controlling ex.
I loved Josh’s character. He is strong, caring and patient man who likes Marla and wants to see where their chemistry can take them. He is understanding and patient with Marla when she doesn’t trust her feelings for Josh and is being stubborn, he is there to protect her when she is facing troubles at work.
The characters in this book were very real. A very nice read especially if you love a dog-loving, strong and caring alpha.
