This was my first book by this author and the first meeting between the protagonists reeled me in. Very ‘interesting’ 🙂
Quinn is a strong, driven young employment/labor lawyer who is given an employment by James who is impressed with her after their first meeting. Although she finds James attractive, its more for the monetary benefits as well as the help she can provide with her new positions, that she agrees to take up the job.
James is the black sheep of the family. Orphaned at a very young age, he is brought up by his grandfather, whom he feels he’s never made proud. Given the opportunity to head the new company, he wants to reform the old practices as well as grow the business.
Working together, they become close friends and James comes to trust Quinn and her judgements. On a surprise twist of event, they both find themselves in Quinn’s hometown. James meets Quinn’s family as well as the side of Quinn she usually keeps hidden. Feelings are realized and attraction cannot be denied.
This book is nicely written and the plot is easy flowing. Not a lot of drama and interesting supporting characters make this story a nice light read.
