Reading the blurb, you think of those teenage flicks with the president’s daughter and an alpha. But this book was so much more. Maddie is a young, hard working woman who has just found her footing in the world. Its not easy being the president’s daughter and she knows she has not made wise choices always. But in her heart, she is good and kind and wants to make the world a better place. She’s also practical and knows the change comes in small steps. I loved her strength of character and her innate shyness.

Enter Jake Simmons, War Veteran and amputee and the Vice President’s son. He has come back from Afghanistan and is still coming to terms with the civilian life when he is thrown into the publicity cycle by his mother. He is charming, sexy and has a darkness in him which makes him so swoony ❤

Maddie had a crush on Jake when she was a teenager and now she has to work with him in a project for Veterans and under the public eye. Jake is finally seeing Maddie and realizes the goodness of her heart. The flirting and banter is sexy and funny. There were lots of laugh out loud moments in this book.
But there is also angst. This book deals with some serious issues and these have been handled beautifully by the author. It makes you sit up and take notice.

I have loved the Suddenly series by the author and this book was no different. Nichole Chase knows how to write about celebrities for sure!
