Review: Anti-Stepbrother

Anti-Stepbrother by Tijan

My rating: 3.5 of 5 stars

I Love Tijan. I love her college romances. I love her badass heroines and alpha heroes. I love the angst and twists in her plots.
This book has some of these things and some not.
Things I loved:
Caden Banks. He’s a typical alpha. Popular guy, takes no B.S. All girls are crazy about him with good reasons. He’s the broody, silent type.
The Plot Twists. The h Summer Scholtz comes to college for her stepbrother but ends up falling for the “anti-stepbrother”
The side characters. I liked how some of the side characters were portrayed. The stepbrother Kevin, the stepmom Sheila, the best friend Avery and Caden’s brother Mason.

Things I didn’t like so much
Summer. The heroines was quirky, funny and cute. But she was also naive. I did not care much for her thought process really.
The romance. Or lack of thereof. Caden and Summer started of as friends. This is a friends-to-lovers romance, sure. But there was no romance to speak of. One day they are friends and the next they are lovers. Even the declaration of love felt flat.
Climax. Most books, you expect a twist in the end. The twist was there. But I could not digest the reason and logic behind it. And in the end, the reasons remain but the H and h come together.

But still, its Tijan. So all in all, I’ll give it 3.5 stars.
